On a cold Good Friday morning our annual walk started at 11am from Wallneuk North Church, "Father Forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing" (Luke 23-34) A crowd of about 70 worshipers set off on their journey with the first stop at St Mirins Cathedral, with a reading by Father Oliver "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise" (Luke 23-43)

We were joined by a further 20 walkers and with the help of 2 wonderful police officers we marched through the town to the swirl of the pipes, played by Fraser a P5  pupil of Mossvale Primary School. Stopping at Paisley Abbey for some singing and words of worship by the Very Reverend Alan Birss "He Said to His mother, ‘Dear woman, here is your son, and to the disciple, ‘Here is your mother." (John 19-36-27)

A quick stop at the Town Hall where we heard from Stuart Davidson "Jesus cried out in a loud voice…’My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Matthew 27-46)

Then across the road to The Methodist Halls where Reverend Mary Patterson conducted a short sermon about "Thirst" "Later, knowing that all was now completed…. Jesus said, I am thirsty." (John 19-28)

Marching into the Heart of the town to the Cenotaph where Reverend Peter Gill got the crowd going in song and provided a short sermon "Jesus said, “It is finished”…   When he had said this, he breathed his last." (John 19:30)

The crowd was on the home straight heading down Moss Street towards the Life Church where Pastor Phil Arbon conducted the final sermon "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." (Luke 23:46) and the walkers were rewarded with a cuppa and a hot cross bun.

A BIG thanks to those who took part, hope to see you next year...
